Fresh Blender News, Every Day
A beautiful animation by Alex Glawion. Download the Quicktime version (recommended; playable in VLC) or watch in low-res on Vimeo. His demoreel is also worth watching, although I'm not too crazy about the robot.

"Help the Boros reclaim their precious artefact and solve the mystery of the Starlight Isles. You will face unique and challenging puzzles that will require all your logic and reasoning skills; often there is not just one solution to the problem you face."

We talked to Graham Ranson to find out how he and his team used Blender.

Remember the 'Slimers' commercial by Promotion Studios? James Neale talks about the project's pipeline and Blender's role in it, how they rebuilt Blender to run on their 64 bit quad-cores machines with 8 gig ram (closed source apps, eat your heart out! ;-) and about trademarked Nickelodeon slime properties. A very cool read.

Awesome artwork by Soenke Maeter from Germany. Soenke writes:
I created this one for the BWC2008. The composition is something i payed special attention to. It's rendered with Blender2.47 internal render and some postpro with Photoshop.

After last week's call for a new header we received almost 30 submissions! I've picked the 10 best and added them to the site.
All of them? Yes! Several people have suggested rotating through the header images automatically, so I've added this function to the site. Instead of displaying a new image with each pageview though, I've chosen to display a new image every day. That should make browsing faster and I think it's a bit easier on the eyes.
To see the 'winners', see below! (Oh, and adding new images is a breeze, so keep 'em coming!)
