VFX Breakdown: Cyrano de Bergerac

0

Johnnythep shares a breakdown of a VFX project he worked on.

I just finished my first VFX project using mainly Blender (After Effects for compositing), which featured camera tracking and 3D environments. Because of the project limited budget and length of shots (a total of 20-25mn), everything is rendered in Eevee, which was challenging but interesting.

The project is about the play “Cyrano de Bergerac”, and features a theater-like set with 2D elements.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
