Celestial Ruin is an environment showcases a blend of Roman and Mediterranean architecture set in a remote desert landscape. I wanted to push the quality closer to what you'd expect in an AAA game, so I used Unreal Engine 5.4, utilizing Lumen for dynamic lighting and Nanite to handle the high level of detail in the assets. I used blender as my main package for a mix of custom and modular pieces, focusing on creating an immersive atmosphere. HDRI lighting helped me achieve realistic lighting and shadows, which really brought the scene to life.
